Peter Mallouk is an American financial advisor and businessman. He is the Principal, President and Chief Investment Officer of Creative Planning, Inc., a registered investment advisor (RIA), and one of the largest independent wealth management firms in the country. Mallouk has been recognized as one of Worth's Power 100 most powerful men and women in finance.
Mallouk emphasizes the importance of customizing an investment portfolio to a client's specific situation, objectives, and needs, rather than basing investment decisions primarily on past performance or risk tolerance. Mallouk is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP), a certification awarded by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. His education at the University of Kansas included undergraduate majors in Business, Economics, Political Science and Psychology. Mallouk went on to also earn his M.B.A. and law degree (J.D.). Mallouk is also the author of The 5 Mistakes Every Investor Makes and How to Avoid Them: Getting Investing Right (2014), co-author of Unshakeable (2017) and is featured in American Dream (2016).
